Project story

The Challenge: How to update the branding of a local country inn, to reflect the recent renovations and changes in management.

We worked with the team to identify the brand vision and ‘look' they were keen to align themselves with, and discussed their competition and plans for the future. 

The end result: Ideating with the team on pinterest  the font “Quincy” was chosen, a clear display font with expressive letter forms. The owner wanted to keep the original horse painting as part of the logo, so designer David Cliff cleverly arranged a more upto date version, balancing the layout with words and imagery in a neat square.

This was then rolled out to everything from handmade signage, workwear to all in-house stationary and menus.  The website was overhauled using fresh photography from Boxfish, and copy written personally by the owner.

We spent time working with the management team, both front of house and kitchen to understand the importance of managing the social media presence in-house at the heart of the business. We helped them develop a familiar tone of voice to be echoed through all future communications on twitter, facebook and instagram.
